13 HAINING ROAD MIXED-USE DEVELOPMENT

The proposed mixed-use building is located along Haining Road in New Kingston. This eight-storey reinforced concrete structure has a basement level for additional parking. The development is intended to support the current demands for commercial space in the densely populated corporate area while also providing residential spaces on the top floor.

Integer Engineering Company performed the civil and structural engineering designs and provided construction monitoring services. The structural designs began with a comprehensive study of the possible load cases including everyday gravity loads along with lateral effects due to earthquake and hurricane. Civil infrastructural designs were also carried out to address the stormwater drainage, potable water supply, and wastewater collection and disposal. Consideration was given to the lateral soil pressures during the excavation of the basement where soil slope and excavation analysis were carried out. This ensured adequate soil slopes during excavation of the basement level and the necessary measures put in place to safeguard the workers and the general public during the excavation.

The estimated time line for occupancy is mid 2023.

ROUND HILL ONE LOVE VILLA

This development is located on the property of the Round Hill Hotel and Villas in Montego Bay, St. James and overlooks the Caribbean Sea. The scope involved the construction of three villas with swimming pools, staff accommodation and a storage building. The design team for this project included  both locally based and international professionals.

The structural and civil engineering services, along with all follow-up contract administration services were carried out by Integer Engineering Company. The structures were primarily reinforced concrete along with structural steel members and timber roofing. The civil designs include an off-site sewer pipe network, conveying the waste from the property to an existing sewer system on the Round Hill property. The surface storm-water runoff from roofs, grassed and paved areas were calculated and the designs completed for the collection, conveyance and disposal.

THE AZURE RESIDENTIAL BUILDING

The six-storey ocean front residential development is located along Jamaica’s beautiful North Coast of Discovery Bay and will comprise of 41 luxury apartment units. This development is the first of its kind in Discovery Bay and boasts a number of amenities including an infinity-edge pool, gym and a clubhouse with an outdoor barbeque area. The lush, green, beautiful landscape also compliments the blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.   

Structural engineering and construction monitoring services were carried out by Integer Engineering Company. The peculiar shape and structural configuration of the building demanded an in-depth seismic analysis to ensure structural stability. Special attention was also given to the seismic detailing based on the intricacy of the design. Wind-resistant designs were also critical based on the proximity to the sea.

SAGICOR MILLENNIUM MALL

The Sagicor Millennium Mall centrally located in Mineral Heights, Clarendon is a commercial development designed to serve as a hub for numerous communities around May Pen to better access products, services and recreational activities. The development is on a 10-acre property and has 8 blocks with a total of approximately 60 Units for varying commercial use.

Integer carried out the structural designs for the buildings which typically consisted of long-spanning steel trusses supported by structural steel columns as well as reinforced concrete columns and walls. Foundation designs were specifically performed to address the challenging soil conditions and drainage characteristics of the area.

RACQUET CLUB RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT

The Montego Bay Racquet Club is an eight-storey residential building overlooking beaches, cruise ship piers, resorts and the city of Montego Bay.  The development comprises of a total of thirty units along with amenities such as spa, gym, roof top pool, courtyard, tennis courts and pickleball courts.

Integer Engineering Company performed the civil and structural engineering designs and provided construction monitoring services. The structural designs for the building began with an analysis of the structure to determine the most suitable and economical structural configuration. Elemental designs were carried out for the main structural elements and the associated drawings prepared.  The civil designs include an overall analysis of the site drainage to include the exisiting tennis court and runoff from the roofs and other surfaces. The wastewater collection and disposal along with the supply of potable water to the building and other areas were also covered under the civil engineering scope.
